Dark Circles
Dark circles are a feature that many people develop at some point their life, especially dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles, also known as eye circles or bags under the eyes, are a dark blemish below and around the eyes. There are different causes of dark circles under eyes such as lack of sleep, not enough Vitamin K, heredity or bruising.
One main cause for dark circles under eyes is heredity. When blood goes through the large veins under the eyes, it produces a bluish tint and someone with light skin tone (an inherited trait) will get dark undereye circles. Even dark toned people will get dark circles if eyes get too much sun exposure. The eyes are no different from any other body part when it comes to exposure to the sun. There is very little we can do to prevent the inherited dark circles around eyes or dark under eye circles. There are some things, however, that can be done to help eliminate the dark eye circles.
Certain medications or allergies will contribute to the dark circles under eye problem. This type of dark circle is usually temporary and can be treated easily by taking care of the immediate cause with allergy medication. If dark circles are caused by a certain medication, stopping the medication will help in getting rid of dark circles. It is very easy to remove dark circles under eyes when lack of sleep is the culprit. The answer there is to make sure your body and eyes get plenty of rest.
Age is one cause of dark circles under the eyes that is the hardest to take care of. There is no way to stop aging. It is important to get plenty of rest, eat nutritional food, especially foods rich in Vitamin K, and drink plenty of fluids. Fluids are important because loss of body fluid will also contribute to dark circles under the eyes. Many people use homemade treatments for dark circles. One such treatment is to put teabags under the eyes. There are people that swear by this treatment.
Another homemade remedy (as well as medical) is hydroquinone cream for dark circles. This cream has been known as other names such as Eldopaque, Eldopaque Forte, Eldoquin-Forte Sunbleaching, Esoterica Facial, Esoterica Regular, and Esoterica Sunscreen. It's a skin lightening cream used for many purposes and getting rid of dark circles is one of them.
