Freckles

A Freckle is a small tan or brown spot of melanin on the face the size of a pinhead, although they are never found as just one 'freckle', but rather as freckles. They are usually found on fair skin people. Freckles are hereditary and the tendency to develop freckles is related to the presence of the melanocortin-1 receptor MC1R gene variant. There are two types of freckles: ephelides or ephellis freckles and lentigines. The main difference in the tow is ephellis freckles are small brown or tan freckles that tend to fade in the winter, whereas lentigines are bigger spots that don't fade.

Freckles can also develop from long exposure to sunlight. Blonde-haired people and red hair people are more prone to develop freckles to their skin tone, which is usually light. If you have red hair, freckles are probably something you have become accustomed to. Redhead freckles are considered Irish freckles because most Irish with red hair have freckles. Doctors feel that freckles give children a healthy appearance.

Freckles are found mostly on the face, but they may appear on any part of your body that is exposed to the sun. Very seldom, will you find freckles on infants, but will see many little girls with freckles. Freckle faced girls are generally young school age girls with cute freckles, however you will find as many freckle face boys as freckle face girls. Many people think freckles are children are cute just as men seem to enjoy sexy freckles on women.

The people that don't have freckles find them the most endearing and attractive. When they find their first freckle, a girl will usually become upset at the prospect of more freckles developing. Many children and young adults spend a great amount of time and trying to find how to get rid of freckles.
One of the most effective ways of removing freckles is with the use of laser treatments. Lasers are so exact that they can pinpoint each little freckle. Laser resurfacing is another way of removing freckles. There are also companies that advertise blemish remover creams for freckle removal. They guarantee that, used as directed, your freckles will be gone in 3 weeks to 90m days. Chemical peels, liquid nitrogen and pulsed light therapy are a few more ways for freckle removal. If you seriously wish to have your freckles removed, check with a dermatologist on what he or she recommends.
