Many people get very worried if they see a skin tag on their bodies. In addition, many people don't even know what a skin tag is; they automatically assume the worst with skin tags. If you do not know what a skin tag is or looks like, there are many places you may go to look at pictures of skin tags. There are also a couple different reasons on what causes skin tags. One of the biggest skin tag causes is because it is a benign tumor.
There are many different ways of getting rid of skin tags. In fact, if you do not want to go to the doctor and have them remove them for you, you may also try home removal of skin tags yourself. In addition, it may be less embarrassing for you. One way of doing skin tag removal at home, is by cutting off a skin tag with a knife, scissors, or even a razor blade. If you opt to remove skin tags by yourself, be sure to cut down level with your normal skin, otherwise, it may grow back again. If you are sure you do not want to be removing skin tags by yourself, going to the doctor would be a good idea. In fact, a doctor may know several different ways on how to remove skin tags. Many times a doctor will choose to have skin tag removal by string. By that, they are putting a string around the tag and cutting off its blood supply and slowly cutting if off. Other ways a doctor will remove skin tags is by freezing them off or cutting off with a scalpel or scissors.
Many people thing that if they cut off one or two different skin tags that that was the cure, remove skin tags is not the cure. In fact, there really is no cure for skin tags. As long as the skin tags are benign, I wouldn't even worry about them.
