Skin Toners
Many women use skin toners on a regular basis each day. Others, however, don’t use skin toners or know very much about them. Years ago, skin toners were unheard of or if they were used, it was a homemade skin toner that was used. With all the emphasis on skin care, it’s important to know the key that skin toners hold to healthy and beautiful skin. When we wash our face, we think we are cleansing it as good as possible. Many times, makeup is hard to remove with just soap and water, so skin toners are used after cleansing our face to ensure complete removal of makeup or dirt left behind. Skin toners also refresh the skin and restore the skin’s natural pH balance to its normal level. Skin toners are designed for different skin types and it’s important to use a skin care toner for your skin type. Skin toners are made up of different herbs, with some of the most common ones being hazel, geranium, honey, lemon, ivy, and sage to name a few.
Pure fresh toner, by Lancôme, is a great oily skin toner that removes excess oil and leaves your skin smooth and fresh with the help of the honeycomb shaped microcaptors that absorb the oil. Using twice daily after cleansing will keep your skin clean and refreshed. Ahava advanced toner for oily skin with chamomile and plant extracts helps to remove the t-zone shine and cleanse your face to perfection. It contains only 12% natural oil so it won’t dry your skin out as some toners will. Another toner for oily skin is Elizabeth Arden oily skin toner, an oil control toner that refreshes your skin while it controls and minimizes excess oil.
Lancôme also makes a great dry skin toner called ‘Absolute Toner’ that is made of wild yam, soy and sea algae. This cleanser and toner combo will thoroughly clean and replenish it with all the oils and nutrients it needs. The Arbonne dry skin toner is part of the anti-aging skin care line called NutriMinC Re9, and if their sales are any indication of its quality, then it’s top of the line. Part of the skin care line consists of scrubs, masks, skin cleansers and toners.
If using a skin toner, is something new to you, you may want to try an at home herbal skin toner. One skin toner recipe with herbs consists of rose water, orange-blossom, everlasting oil and lavender essential oil. This, of course, is just one skin toner recipe. There are many recipes for skin toners online or at your local library.
