Skin Disorders

Skin disorders cover a wide range of conditions from rashes and acne to liver spots. One skin disorder may not be serious, while another may be life threatening. Some common skin disorders are dermatitis, psoriasis and vitilgo. Some times a skin disorder comes unexpectedly, but most times, there are some skin disorder symptoms such as itching, redness, or a rash.
When we think of vitilgo, we think of the disorder of Jackson. Michael’s skin must be protected from too much sun due to some loss of melanin. Many men experience some periods of embarrassing skin disorders. Scrotum redness and itching is something every man has experienced at one time or another.

Some people develop skin disorders from tanning beds. Too much time in tanning beds will make the skin red and itchy and can cause skin cancer, one of the worst types of skin disorders. Skin diseases can be difficult to treat and cure if they are not taken care of at the first onset. They can be doubly difficult if the thing that is causing them is being used repeatedly.

A skin pigmentation disorder is a condition that causes the skin to appear blotchy, discolored and lighter or darker than normal. Skin pigmentation disorders affect people of all races. Some of these disorders are albinism, age spots or vitilgo to name a few. Skin pigmentation disorders happen because the body produces either too much or too little melanin. Melanin, the pigment that creates your hair, skin or eye color, protects the body by absorbing ultraviolet light. Skin disorders can come in any of the following forms:

Skin Ulcers
Spider Veins
Varicose Veins
Vitilgo

Humans are not the only ones inflicted by a skin disorder. In dogs, they are just as common, but are not acknowledged or treated as much as in humans. Dog skin disorders are very common, specifically in and by the ears or tails. One common canine skin disorder is itching by the tail, which can be from any number of things from worms to simply needing grooming. Some other reasons for canine skin disorders are allergic reaction to grooming supplies, fleas, worms or allergy to food. German Shepherd skin disorders can come from systemic yeast infections, an ailment many shepherds get.

Feline skin disorders are often difficult for a veterinarian to diagnose. They may be itching, scaling, scabs or just redness. It may take repeated tests to determine the cause of feline skin disorders.
