Rosacea

Rosacea is a fairly common skin disease the effects the middle third of your face, the area around your upper chin, nose area and under the eyes. There is another form of Rosacea called Ocular Rosacea that about 60% of Rosacea victims get. Ocular affects the area around the eyes, and the eye lids. What happens when a person is a victim of Rosacea is the tiny blood vessels in the areas dilate, or get bigger, and become more apparent through the skin giving off a red irritated look. Many times pimples occur and Rosacea is mistaken for common acne which is why Rosacea is often referred to as Acne Rosacea. Unlike common acne, Rosacea treatment is a little different as most patients end up with severe problems, and need special Rosacea treatment.

There really is no known cause for Rosacea, though it is more common in people that blush easily as it affects the blush area of the face.
